For many years, Meg has been the driving force behind Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea on the island, raising record‑breaking amounts for cancer research and inspiring countless locals to give, gather, and share. Her events became more than fundraisers — they were joyful celebrations of community, compassion, and connection.
Alongside her charitable work, Meg built one of the island’s most successful small businesses, Meg Brown’s Hair Port, known for its welcoming atmosphere, creative flair, and loyal clientele. Her salon became a hub of conversation and care — a place where stories were shared and friendships grew.
Now, Meg has extended that same generosity to MI Care, donating her legendary Pianola, complete with over 100 Pianola Rolls, to our community hub at 7 Apjohn Street, Horseshoe Bay. This remarkable gift carries decades of music, laughter, and island history — a treasure that will bring joy to members and visitors alike.
The Pianola will soon take pride of place in MI Care’s social space, ready to fill the room with familiar tunes and new memories. It’s more than an instrument; it’s a symbol of continuity — of how one person’s kindness can ripple through generations.
